Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the UK in 2020 to live their lives in California, people have been wondering when they’d return. While they did go to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral together, Harry has made a few trips alone. People have speculated when Meghan will return, but one biographer claims that will never happen (and the reason behind their theory has everything to do with Kate Middleton)!

Diana: Her True Story author Andrew Morton made a recent appearance on Sky News’ Sunday via Mirror that he believes Meghan will never return to the UK because she never wants to curtsy for Kate.

He said: “What, and have Meghan Markle curtsying to Kate Middleton? I don’t think so. I don’t see that as a runner. They’ve got their own lives in California.”

Now, curtsying has been a bit of a sore spot between Meghan and Kate. During Meghan and Harry’s Netflix docuseries entitled Harry & Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex talked about how she didn’t know how to curtsy. Soon after, Kate’s “perfect” curtsy went viral, with many thinking it was a jab at Meghan.

Something to point out is that curtsies are really reserved for Kings and Queens. While Kate is a Princess, there’s no official rule one has to curtsy for her. However, Morton isn’t the only one to theorize Meghan wouldn’t return to the UK because of Kate, due to their long-standing reported rift.
