The tiny country of Luxembourg is about to increase its population!

The Court of Luxembourg announced on Monday that Princess Alexandra and her husband, Nicolas Bagory, are expecting their first child this spring.

"The Grand Duke, the Grand Duchess as well as the members of the two families are united in great happiness,” the court announced.

The baby will be the eighth grandchild of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

Princess Alexandra is their only daughter. Born in February 1991, the princess holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy as well as a master's degree in interreligious studies from the Irish School of Ecumenics at Trinity College.

She married Frenchman Nicolas in April 2023 in Luxembourg. A religious ceremony occurred a week later in Bormes-les-Mimosas, France.

According to The Court JewellerPrincess Alexandra completed her bridal look with the Chaumet Choker Tiara — a unique piece that can be worn as a necklace or a headpiece.

The Court Jeweller reports that the royal family of Luxembourg acquired the diamond tiara with crisscross detail and removable pearls at an auction two generations ago, and the piece passed from Princess Alexandra's grandmother Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte to her mother, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa has worn the Chaumet Choker Tiara both ways, styling it as a necklace for a state banquet in Sweden in 2008 and tucking it into her hair as a tiara for her son Prince Guillaume's pre-wedding dinner in 2012.
