Roy Orbison Jr. and Wife Asa Welcome Baby No. 4, Sun Jakob: 'Our Little Sunshine' (Exclusive)

The couple is already parents to sons Roy III, 7, Bo, 5, and Love, 17 months

The Orbison family has added another baby boy to the family!

Roy Orbison Jr., 52, and his wife Asa welcomed another son to their brood, a rep for the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The couple welcomed son Sun Jakob Orbison on Monday, September 11, the couple confirms. Baby Sun was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at 11:20 p.m., weighing 8 lbs., 16 oz. and measuring 21 inches long. Sun joins big brothers Love, 17 months, Bo, 5, and Roy Orbison III, 7.

Orbison Jr. tells PEOPLE about the familial ties behind the baby boy's name.

"We want Sun to know his family’s story; his name is inspired by the legendary Sun Records where rock and roll was born with his grandfather Roy Orbison, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. He’s our little sunshine,” Orbison Jr. says.

He continues, “I was in a dark, lonely place before I met Asa. But everything since then has led me to a place of light and happiness."

"In fact, I remember saying to PEOPLE around our wedding announcement that, 'Life has been bright and sunny ever since Asa came into my life,' so this name is really fitting for our fourth son.”

“I'm so impressed by my wife and once again reminded what a powerhouse she and all mothers are," says Orbison Jr.

Asa, a native of Sweden who works in marketing and tied the knot with the singer in June 2017, shares, "Having been through the journey that is pregnancy before only gives me a greater respect for the whole process. It’s truly a miracle."

"Just as our love for the older kids continues to multiply as our family grows, I’m even more in awe of pregnancy, birth and the little people created each time," she continues. Our little Sunny is so cute, has us all madly in love and completes our family!”

Orbison Jr. says his older pair of boys are already playing drums and guitar, "and can’t wait for Love and little Sunny to join the band.”

In May, Orbison Jr. and his wife confirmed that they were expecting another baby. "We're more than halfway through this pregnancy and with Mother's Day coming up, we are so excited to share the news that we are expecting another baby in September," the couple told PEOPLE exclusively at the time.

To go alongside their announcement, the family of five posed for family photos in a vibrant field of yellow flowers in Malibu. Roy III stood in front of the couple with brother Bo as Asa held son Love.

The pair shared that their then-youngest had "changed the dynamic of our group."

"He is our 'family baby' and we've turned into this little community — a really tight little group of people, helping each other out and just having so much fun together!"

"We are so excited for one more person to join this group we've created. There's truly nothing better than spending time together!" they added.
