Ross County Fair entertained by hypnotist

CHILLICOTHE— When I snap my fingers you will awake to find that you were thoroughly entertained at the Ross County Fair by hypnotist Mike Bishop.

SNAP!

This may have been the case for many as they gathered to watch Bishop during one of his several shows during the Ross County Fair. Bishop has been performing shows for over 30 years working as a motivational speaker and comedy hypnotist. He started doing magic shows at a young age and fell in love with hypnotism after watching his friends get hypnotized.

At the beginning of his show, Bishop explains to the audience that nothing bad will happen to them and that being hypnotized is not mind control, instead, it is just a relaxed state of being where they would not do anything they would not normally do. Bishop said he does this to clear up any misconceptions people may have as well as let them know they are going to be safe if they volunteer.

Safety is a big concern for Bishop as every show can be different depending on how people react to the hypnosis so he is always watching volunteers closely to make sure they are still under and that they are safe.

"You never know what you are going to get," said Bishop of his shows.

On Monday at the fair, he hypnotized various volunteers to forget their names, think they have 11 fingers, feel hot and cold and kick off their shoes. At the end of the show, Bishop returns everyone back to normal, a few of the volunteers said the experience was relaxing and they felt like they had taken a nap.
