New ‘Roseanne’ Teaser Mocks Itself for Bringing Dan Back From the Dead (Video)

A new 15-second teaser for the “Roseanne” revival makes fun of itself as Roseanne Conner tells her husband, “You can’t live in the past, Dan!”

“When things are gone, they’re gone forever,” adds the titular character (played by Roseanne Barr) as Dan complains about the present-day Chicago Bulls.

It’s an interesting statement as fans of the show are dying to know just how the heck Dan is alive again after being killed off in the season finale in 1997.

They’ll find out when the nine-episode 10th season debuts with a special hour-long episode on Tuesday, March 27 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

The full cast from the show’s original run is returning for the new revival, including Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman, and both Beckys — Lecy Goranson, who originated the character and will play her in the revival, and Sarah Chalke, who will play a new character.

Johnny Galecki, who currently stars in CBS’ hit “The Big Bang Theory,” is also returning for a single episode.

The ninth season concluded with Roseanne revealing that plotline in which Goodman’s character had survived a heart attack and the family won the lottery … was all a dream.

In the reality of the show, Dan did not survive the heart attack, but Barr herself had an idea about how he returns; read about it here.

“Roseanne” also stars Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara and Jayden Rey.

The original run aired for nine seasons from 1988-1997 on ABC and won 17 Emmys. The series followed the blue collar Conner family, trying to make ends meet in Lanford, Illinois.
