Named after the year Jacoby's Bar was founded, the space for Room 1904 was remodeled and offers limited seating with vintage furniture and new booths while providing an "intimate bar experience."

Its cocktail menu is described as high-end, and the food menu will offer more than half a dozen options from 1904 beef tips to Bricktown Bruchetta and Brush Street Salmon dip. Room 1904 marks the first time the exclusive upstairs space will be open to the public since it was the 313.Jac live music club in the 2000s.

A highlight of Room 1904 is its personalized absinthe service from the lounge's "Whiskey Sommelier," according to the news release.

Since 1904, Jacoby's has been a mainstay in downtown Detroit and has a long history on Brush Street as the city's German Biergarten. It got its start when Al and Mina Jacoby, both European immigrants who worked at another downtown bar, took it over, according to its website. Over the decades, Jacoby's continued the German Biergarten tradition through several owners, including four generations of the Jacoby family, and has undergone many menu changes.

Room 1904 opens Oct. 30 at 624 Brush Street, Detroit.
