SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego’s Rooftop Cinema Club has released its spring and summer schedule all the way through Fourth of July weekend.

Grab your popcorn, drinks, and tickets — the Rooftop Cinema Club along San Diego’s Embarcadero has released its star-studded lineup through Sunday, July 7.

More than 250 musicians call for concert ticketing reform

Starting strong, the next showing at the cinema club is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, featuring the 2023 prequel to the 2012 “Hunger Games” movie, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.”

Cult films, classics and new releases make up the list the first half of the summer, with movies like “Top Gun,” “50 First Dates,” “Bridesmaids,” “The Notebook,” “Mean Girls” (both the 2004 original film and 2024 film), “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter,” “Wish,” “The Wedding Planner,” “Scream” (1996) “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Wonka,” “The Princess Bride,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “White Chicks,” “Clueless” and “Twilight.”

Other films scheduled for showings include “Pulp Fiction,” “Anchorman,” “Moana”, “Wedding Crashers,” “Shawshank Redemption,” “The Hangover,” “American Psycho,” “Ace Ventura,” “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Fight Club,” “La La Land,” “Step Brothers,” “Rush Hour,” “The Birdcage,” “Greece,” “How To Loose A Guy In 10 Days,” “Interstellar,” “Happy Gilmore,” “Shrek,” “Friday,” “Ratatouille,” “Independence Day,” “Sandlot,” “The Goonies,” and so many more.

The Rooftop Cinema Club offers lawn and table games ahead of the shows, views of downtown San Diego, alcoholic drinks, food, and snacks. The cinema club is located on the fourth floor Sports Courts of the Harbor Tower in the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. Moviegoers can park in the hotel’s parking garage for $11 for up to four hours with a validation from the cinema box office.

In addition to the movie lineup, the cinema club also offers several themed events, like dog-friendly “Wooftop” events, celebrating black cinema, movie anniversaries, and more.

May the Fourth Be With You! On May 4, head to the Rooftop Cinema for a screening of the Star Wars films, and take part in Star Wars trivia, photo ops and a costume contest.

San Diego County Fair announces theme, concert series lineup

The cinema club’s Fourth of July event starts at 5:15 p.m. on July 4, which falls on a Thursday this year. The event will have live acoustic performances, cocktails, a catered BBQ meal, and of course rooftop views. A screening of “Independence Day” follows the party, starting at 7:15 p.m. Those in attendance might also get to see Fourth of July fireworks put on by the city.

Rooftop Cinema Club started in London, and has since expanded with two venues in the U.K. and seven locations across the U.S. — Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, Fort Worth, Houston, New York City, and Chicago.
