Ronan Keating's son dumped from 'Love Island' as he says he's had 'a great couple of days'

Ronan Keating's son Jack has been dumped from Love Island after a short stint in the ITV2 show - but said he'd had "a great couple of days".

The 23-year-old drew plenty of attention from viewers because of his Boyzone star dad, but unfortunately that didn't translate to interest from the other contestants.

He went into the dating show's rival villa, Casa Amor, at the weekend as one of 12 bombshell singles recruited to tempt the contestants away from their partners, but was one of six dumped in Thursday's episode after failing to couple up with anyone.

Although Jack spent less than a week in Love Island, dad Ronan seemed to see the funny side as he retweeted a clip of another contestant quoting one of his own song lines at his son in commiseration, with a laughing emoji.

When the contestants leaving the show were announced, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was shown going over to Jack to give him a goodbye hug with the wise words: "Life is a rollercoaster."

Talking about his time on the show, Jack seemed unfazed by his early exit as he said: "I had a really great time, a great couple of days so no complaints!"

He added: "It was great! I went in there and was myself and I wore my heart on my sleeve and I have no regrets - I absolutely loved it."

Jack admitted the girl he had liked the best was Paige Thorne, but ultimately wasn't chosen by anyone to form a new couple.

The recoupling ceremony saw a big shake-up in the cast - Jay is now with Chyna, Danica with Josh, Dami with Summer, Indiyah with Deji, Andrew with Coco and Tasha with Billy.

Meanwhile, Paige and Jacques, Ekin-Su and Davide, and Gemma and Luca all chose to stay together.
