New rollercoaster opening soon at Dorney Park

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – The newest rollercoaster in the region, the Iron Menace, will officially open to the public at Dorney Park on April 27, 2023.

The Iron Menace will be the Northeast’s first-ever dive coaster and is the first new roller coaster at Dorney Park in 19 years.

The coaster is 160 feet tall, 2,169 feet long, and reaches 64 mph with four inversions.

The area around the rollercoaster, called the “Steel Yard”, is all themed around the coaster. There is a new restaurant and gift shop and the Cedar Creek Flyers ride has had a makeover and will be operating under the new name MT Buckets.

The new rollercoaster was announced in August 2023 and construction was completed in February.
