Roll-Em-Up Taquitos will celebrate its anniversary in Victorville by giving 50 residents a chance to win free taquitos for a year.

Roll-Em-Up Taquitos founders, Ryan and Tiffany Usrey, are welcoming guests to their Victorville store on Saturday, where customers can enter to win free taquitos with the purchase of 2, 3, or 5-pack taquitos.

Store hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roll-Em-Up located at 11604 Amargosa Road on Restaurant Row in Victorville.

The company’s food truck will also be on-site where guests can purchase Roll-Em-Up merchandise.

Family recipe

Roll-Em-Up Taquitos in Victorville opened in August 2021.

Created by the Usrey family based on Mama Karen’s beef taquitos, each Roll-Em-Up Taquitos restaurant uses the freshest ingredients for its different styles of taquitos, the company said.

Using the treasured family recipe, Roll-Em-Up taquitos are prepared at each of the company’s 14 restaurants with a fresh corn or flour tortilla, hand-rolled and filled with citrus-marinated chicken, braised shredded beef, potatoes with green chilis, and freshly-grated Monterey jack cheese, the company said.

The taquitos are then fried in a giant proprietary cast iron pan until crispy and golden brown, then topped with any one of Roll-Em-Up’s house-made sauces, including its signature Lit Sauce.

Each Roll-Em-Up also offers house-made guacamole, queso and other craveable side dishes, such as Street Corn and the guest favorite Churro Donut.

Roll-Em-Up comes to Victorville

The Victorville Roll-Em-Up occupies the building that once housed Cafe Rio Mexican Grill at the retail center that’s also home to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and several other eateries.

Cafe Rio opened in 2017 and closed three years later. The company did not disclose the reason for closing the location, but industry leaders believe state restrictions on restaurants amid the COVID-19 pandemic led to the closure, the Daily Press reported.

By July 2021, the Victorville Roll-Em-Up store was remodeled and the company began hiring, according to the Daily Press.

The following month, many foodies attended the Victorville store’s grand opening celebration, where they dined on taquitos, house-made guacamole, queso, street corn and other dishes.

The Victorville Roll-Em-Up store is the company’s third after opening its first in 2019 in Chino Hills and later in Brea.
