Rod Wave in Memphis: What to know ahead of FedExForum stop

Get ready to ride the waves with Rod Wave's "Nostalgia Tour" which is coming to Memphis next month.

Wave is performing Monday, Nov. 20. General public tickets will go on sale Friday, Oct. 27. The sale starts at 10 a.m. For current Memphis Grizzlies MVP Season Ticket Members, recipients of FedExForum Event Alert e-mails and texts, and subscribers of Grizzlies e-News, there is a presale happening Thursday. The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 26.

The tour comes to town in the wake of a shooting during a Lil Baby concert in September and the cancellation of Moneybagg Yo's concert in the same month. With the Grizzlies season starting, all eyes are on the FedExForum and their new security team.

Who is Rod Wave?

Rod Wave is a rapper and singer signed to Alamo Records. He focuses primarily on hip hop, R&B, and soul-trap. Wave is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, and this is his second tour since his career started in 2016. He was nominated for the Billboard Music Award for Top New Artist in 2021.

Eelmatic is on his second tour with Rod Wave. The singer and songwriter has had three albums come out since his debut in 2019. He is an artist under Hit House Entertainment where Rod Wave is also signed.

The concert will be at the FedExForum on Nov. 20. It is set to start at 8 p.m. that day.

What are FedExForum's safety policies?

In case you missed it, the FedExForum has implemented a clear bag policy only. The rule used to be that non-clear bags could come through if they were a certain size, but that rule went out the window after the Lil Baby concert. The size of the bags has also been reduced to 6x8x2 inches.

Wallets are allowed in the venue as long as they are smaller than 5x3.5 inches. One quart or smaller plastic storage and freezer bags are also allowed in if you do not have a formal clear plastic bag.

Who else is performing at the FedEx Forum this year?

Adam Sandler is coming to FedExForum on Nov. 16 for "The I Missed You Tour."

Anita Baker will be in Memphis on Nov. 22 for "The Songstress" tour.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will perform at the forum on Dec. 14 with their show "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve."
