Rockwall Art League hosting area oil painter

Jan. 12—The Rockwall Art League is welcoming oil painter Debora Schubert Lytle to its Jan. 24 meeting and demonstration.

Lytle will be demonstrating her oil painting techniques. She enjoys painting florals, landscapes and still life art but is primarily known for her portrait work, which includes academic, corporate, family and animal commissions.

Among her distinguished commissions are Dr. Jerry D. Morris, president emeritus Texas A&M University Commerce, Dr. Keith McFarland, president emeritus Texas A&M University Commerce, Dr. Jim Stahl, professor, Texas A&M University Commerce, Dr. and Mrs. Ray Keck, Fort Worth, interim president Texas A&M University Commerce, Mr. FH. McDowell, president emeritus, Texas A&M University Commerce, Dr. Maxwell Lacy, English professor of Texas A&M University Commerce and Mr. Lloyd and Dr. Barbara McDaniel — Dallas.

Lytle is a retired public school educator who now creates art full time and teaches workshops as well as art classes in her rural studio east of Dallas near Cumby. She hails from Sweetwater, Texas and received her associate in arts degree from Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas and a bachelor of fine arts degree from Texas A&M University Commerce.

The meeting will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Harry Meyers Community Center, 815 E. Washington St. in Rockwall. If you are an artist or interested in art, the RAL is open to the public.
