Roc Summer Soul Fest: What to know before you go

Get ready for Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival. Starting Friday, Aug. 18, the annual festival will take place at Parcel 5 in Rochester’s Downtown.

This marks the festival's 27th year of celebration, and it coincides with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Families can gather for an iconic lineup of national and local artists.

What is the Rochester Summer Soul Festival?

What started as a community-based event is now an annual two-day festival commemorating the “Soul of Rochester."

Since 1995, the city of Rochester has been celebrating music with the “Rochester Music Festival." In 2018, it was rebranded as the “Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival." It's also known as the ROC Summer Soul Festival.

The festival brings big names from to the city. Past lineups have included acts such as Boys II Men and Babyface.
