Robinson Grand to host an evening of jazz

Dec. 5—CLARKSBURG — The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center and the West Virginia Jazz Society have teamed up to present "Jazz Night at the Robinson Grand."

Scheduled for Feb. 24, 2024 at 7 p.m., tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m.

Robinson Grand Program Manager Jason A. Young said the performance will be as though a dozen amazing musicians from five different performance spaces all performed under one roof.

"Patrons will have the opportunity to flow through our entire venue and experience masterful jazz in intimate and comfortable settings," Young said. "We'll have live music in the lobby, in our banquet hall and ballroom, and we will be using our stage and performance hall in really interesting ways."

The Jazz Society, a nonprofit organization with a mission to identify and develop the market for live jazz music in West Virginia, is partnering with the Robinson Grand to supply the talent for this event. Brian Wolfe, Karen Greene, and Reggie Watkins are just a few of the musicians set to play in February.

"The musicians the WV Jazz Society have on tap are truly top notch," Young said. "Most of them have a tie to West Virginia, North Central West Virginia will be especially well represented.

Included in the price of each ticket is a full night of live jazz music plus two complimentary small bite buffets. The Robinson Grand will also have three cash bars on hand to serve patrons throughout the evening.

"We're going to have lots of music, food, and drinks; especially some really good wine," Young said. "You can have a full evening out all in the same place; perfect for a cold night in February."
