Robin Williams' Daughter Zelda Reveals How She Coped After Her Father's Death

It’s been two years since the death of Robin Williams, and his daughter Zelda Williams is opening up about how she has been coping.

During a recent appearance on Chelsea Handler’s talk show Chelsea, Williams, 27, revealed that she took it day by day following her father’s 2014 suicide.

“I just kept going, ‘OK, well today I’m going to wake up and love what I do. And then tomorrow I’m going to wake up and be happy and love what I do. And then the next day,” she said. “Because that’s all you can do.”

While she tried to stay positive following the tragedy, Zelda did notice a change in the way others treated her, sharing that everyone continuously asked her if she was okay or if something was wrong, which made her feel “kind of left to my own devices.”

However, in her solitude, Zelda turned to her craft and was able to write 17 scripts, although she admits she did question the amount of time she spent by herself, but has found herself getting out more as her acting career grows.

“But then also you’re like, 'Is there something wrong with me?’” she joked. “And also, I didn’t see daylight for awhile. So now I’m doing a lot more of that. I’ve been working really hard and it’s been nice because you get to not sit with yourself for too long.”

Zelda’s most recent roles include a transgender character in Dead of Summer and a kidnapper in Girl in the Box.
