Robert Pattinson And Sony Developing Ross Evans’ Script ‘How To Save A Marriage’ For Feature Adaptation

EXCLUSIVE: Following a competitive auction, Sony Pictures has landed the highly-coveted spec How To Save A Marriage from Ross Evans with Robert Pattinson on board to produce. Evans penned the script and Pattinson’s producing partner Brighton McCloskey via their Icki Eneo Arlo banner will join as producer along with Geoff Shaevitz and Evan Silverberg via Entertainment 360.

Plot details are being kept under wraps and studio sources add the project is still early development. Evans will also exec produce. Insiders say the deal was in the seven figure range with several other suitors in the mix.

While his deal is only to produce at this time (though sources close to the studio hope that it can be developed as a potential star vehicle down the road), insiders add what got Sony so interested in the package is how hands on he wanted to be as the project was being developed. Pattinson has already established himself as one of the top leading men with projects like Mickey17 and a Batman sequel coming up and is now looking to help bring along his production company as he broadens his range as a producer and this project looks to be a big priority when it comes to that specific area.

As for Evans, this would mark his big sale to a major studio and continues to show studios interest in high-profile packages following the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes resolving. Evans is currently re-writing a project for Netflix/Berlanti Productions, and is set to make his directorial debut for his original feature screenplay De Novo, packaged with David Hoberman for Hobie Films.

Pattinson is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment and WME and Evans is repped by Paradigm, Entertainment 360 and the Nord Group.
