Robert Downey Jr. reveals why he chose ‘Dolittle’ as his first movie after playing Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr. joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2007 when he was cast as Iron Man. He played the superhero in 10 MCU films before sacrificing himself to defeat Thanos and save the world in “Avengers: Endgame.” Now, he’s starring as Dr. John Dolittle in “Dolittle.” The actor tells Yahoo Entertainment why he decided on this project following his run as Iron Man. “It came up … and I read it and the script is good,” he said. RDJ’s wife, Susan, who’s also the co-founder of their production company, helped him come to the decision. “It’s a new adventure, something new to try with a new degree of difficulty,” he said.
