Brand new, behind the scenes footage of Robert Downey Jr rehearsing one of the most iconic lines from Avengers: Endgame has emerged, and it’s oddly emotional.

We have the actor’s long time assistant Jimmy Rich to thank for the clip, as he took to his Instagram to post Downey uttering, “Whatever it takes. No fears, no regrets ... part of the journey is the end,” while sat in a director’s chair and surrounded by green-screen. You can check it out below.

While this sneaky peek at Downey Jr perfecting his performance is obviously a delight, the actor’s incredible glasses also deserve their own mention, too. That shouldn’t be so surprising, though, as Downey Jr earned around $50 million for each of his appearances as Iron Man, so he can easily afford a very nice pair.

The superhero’s declaration that, “Part of the journey is the end,” has quickly become one of the most poignant lines from Avengers: Endgame, especially since Iron Man sacrificed his life at the end of the blockbuster to defeat Thanos.

Obviously his final utterance of, “I am Iron Man,” as he snapped his fingers to use the Iron Gauntlet easily eclipses it as the character’s most famous quote, though.

Robert Downey Jr’s team has been quite busy on social media this week, because they also released a clip of most of the Avengers team singing happy birthday to Josh Brolin while on set, too. That’s decidedly less emotional than the above footage, but it’s always nice to see Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt dancing and acting like fools.

There’s a good chance that Downey is releasing all of these clips to try and remind moviegoers of his talents, after his performance in Dolittle, especially his attempt at a Welsh accent, was roundly attacked.
