Rob Schneider is mourning his mother, Pilar, who died on Sunday night, the actor announced this week.
Schneider shared a loving tribute to his mom on Instagram Monday, saying she died "peacefully" after "a perfect Sunday evening family dinner surrounded with loved ones at her side," including "her daughter April, son-in-law Matt, granddaughter Crystal and her great grandchildren."
The actor, 57, shared details about his mother's life as a survivor of World War II from the Philippines in the post, which included a photo of a recent family trip to Butterfly Wonderland.
"There was never enough food during the war and her stomach bothered her for her nearly 92 years," Schneider wrote. "The family survived because of Pilar and her ingenuity. Her mother and sisters sewed pajamas from bedsheets and traded them with the farmers for sweet potatoes (kamotes), the ones that the Japanese didn't steal from her."

Pilar moved to the U.S. in the 1950s after graduating from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
"Pilar not only survived, she thrived, getting her master's degree as a reading specialist and was elected to the School board in Pacifica California getting more votes than Bill Clinton," the former Saturday Night Live star continued, adding that his mom went on to become a teacher. Pilar continued her impact in retirement by ensuring schools in her community had music classes.
"Pilar spoke often of joining her beloved husband of 39 years, my lovely father Marvin Schneider," Schneider concluded. "That day has come for them to be together."
"I am proud to be able to say that I am the son of Pilar Monroe Schneider."
In his Netflix comedy special that came out last year, Asian Momma, Mexican Kids, Schneider discusses his heritage and family. His daughter, Elle King, even sings with him in the special.
Pilar appeared alongside her son in several movies, including Hot Chick, The Animal, Big Stan and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
On Twitter Tuesday, Schneider shared a quote from St. Francis de Sales that Pilar had kept in her room and read in part, "Do not look forward to what might happen tomorrow... The same everlasting father... Who cares for you today... will take care of you... tomorrow and the next day."
"From my mother Pilar's room... May it grant you peace as well," he wrote alongside the quote.
