- I'm sorry. It's just not working out, is it?

- Here we go.

ROB LOWE: Demi and I had known each other since before the movie. We'd done "St. Elmo's Fire" together and we were friendly, and so we were comfortable. And that's the key to doing any love scene and any nude scene in particular, because they're not fun. They're not a get out of jail free, they're not a hall pass as much as you would like it to be. They're very technical, usually very boring, and I don't know if you've ever had to kiss anybody for eight hours straight, it's not fun. It isn't all you bargained for.

Those days, there was a sex scene in every movie and every script I used to get. I used to always go to page 73, because that was always where the sex scene was. It didn't matter if it was a movie about priests and nuns, on page 73, there's going to be a sex scene. Today, you can watch 17 movies and never see people with their clothes off unless it's about that.

The breakup scene, I remember shooting it like it was yesterday because first of all, really well written, really well directed. Demi was great in it and I have people to this day talk about how moving that was for them.

- I never fooled around, not once.

- Well, let's just give the boy a medal.

ROB LOWE: I still shed a tear when I watch it. I still feel bad for Debbie and Danny. I want them to be together. Happily at the end of the movie, though, they are. But that breakup scene was-- it was something, for sure.

With Demi, we had just done "St. Elmo's Fire" so I felt like maybe it would be fun to unite with somebody different, but I'm really, really glad that it was Demi. And I'm really, really glad that people kind of made that decision, because I think it's one of her best performances ever to this day.
