Chris Traeger would be so proud.

Rob Lowe showed no fear as he and his son spotted two great white sharks on a paddleboarding excursion in Santa Barbara, California, last week.

Just like his character in Parks and Recreation, Lowe is not afraid to seize the day by getting an amazing Instagram video.

Lowe told TMZ: “You just can’t believe your eyes. They’re so powerful. You definitely don’t want to fall in.”

He added that one of the sharks looked to be bigger than his paddleboard.

Lowe, who grew up in California, also explained that he had never seen a great white shark, even though he spends a good deal of time near the water. Seeing the animals was definitely a “once in a lifetime” experience for him.

Sharing the experience with his son must have been pretty special, too.
