RL Grime & Airwaks Win $1 Million in Pro-Am at Fortnite World Cup

The best celebrity Fortnite player has been crowned, and it's definitely not Drake.

EDM artist RL Grime teamed up with pro gamer, Airwaks, to dominate the competition at the Fortnite World Cup and take home the $1 million Pro-Am prize.

Grime and Airwaks beat out 49 other duos of celebrities paired up with Fortnite pros, including Tyler "Ninja" Blevins and his partner, DJ Marshmello.

The battle royale-style competition awarded points for eliminating other players, as well as for surviving themselves.

The "Pressure" star and his partner didn't even have to log any Victory Royales, because they logged enough points, 52, to top the competition.

Former FaZe Clan member, Tfue, also played in the tournament, but was only able to lock down a 5th place finish with his partner, which awarded them $85,000.

RL Grime and Airwaks have said their cash will go towards helping the American Civil Liberties Union and the World Wildlife Fund.

Along with the Pro-Am, the first day of competition crowned a winner for the first ever Fortnite World Cup Creative Finals, which saw intense competition on new and whacky maps.

There were eight teams of four players, but in the end, FaZe Clan's Cizzorz and his Fish Fam team finished in first place and won more than $1.3 million.

FaZe Clan is already off to a good start in the tournament, held at Arthur Ashe Stadium in NYC.

As we reported, the popular gaming organization had cops called after a meet-and-greet draw a huge crowd that frightened bystanders.

FaZe Clan owner, Banks, was seen pumping up the crowd ... and in the end cops dispersed the crowd and issued no citations.

Competition at the Fortnite World Cup will continue through the weekend, with millions of dollars in awards on the line.
