Riverdale's Vanessa Morgan Says Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa Surprised Her with Wedding Shoes: 'So Sweet'

Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech tied the knot earlier this month in an intimate Florida ceremony. And the actress had a very special “something new” on her feet: A pair of shoes from Kelly Ripa’s favorite brand – gifted from Ripa herself!

In an interview with The Knot about her special day, the star, 27, revealed that her Gianvito Rossi heels were a wedding gift from her Riverdale castmate Mark Consuelos, 48, and his wife Kelly Ripa, 49.

“My bridal shoes were Gianvito Rossi, beautiful white feathers that went along with our wedding theme and matched the beautiful white parrots that were actually at the wedding,” Morgan told The Knot (which has photos of the shoes). “The shoes were a wedding gift from my castmate Mark Consuelos and his wife Kelly Ripa. So sweet.”

Ripa often wears the footwear designer on her show Live! with Kelly and Ryan, waxing poetic about the comfort of the heel. Even her daughter, Lola Consuelos, 18, is a fan as she wore a metallic pair to her prom last June.

With the Gianvito Rossi heels, Morgan wore a beautiful Eisen-Stein Bridal gown from Israel. “[I] fell in love with how different it was the moment I tried it on and loved how much it made me look like a bride,” she said to The Knot. For the reception, she changed into a Grace Loves Lace dress and sneakers with “Bride” labeled on them.

Consuelos was not the only Riverdale star to attend Morgan’s intimate and private wedding at the Walton Historic House in Florida. Petsch, who plays Morgan’s on-screen girlfriend in the CW series, was one of six bridesmaids and wore an orange cowl neck slip dress along with the rest of the bridal party.

Morgan and Kopech enlisted the help of wedding planner Tami Varmato “bring our vision to life.”

“I told her to incorporate our favorite colors,” she said of planning the 40-person wedding. “We wanted a modern, rustic bohemian, with a southern twist. A modern-day Tarzan and Jane, and she managed to create exactly that. Honestly, you would think the wedding was planned in a full year. It was a dream come true.”
