Fans have been promised the death of Perry's character, Fred Andrews, will be addressed in the upcoming season and "90210" star Shannen Doherty will pay tribute as a guest star on the episode.

As The Blast reported, the cast did their first table read without Perry in July and it got emotional.

Luke Perry made his last appearance in "Riverdale" on April 24 -- nearly two months after he died and fans were left in tears.

In his final episode, the actor appeared in the kitchen with Archie (played by KJ Apa) after they learn the guy Archie fought died. When Archie blames himself -- despite the fallen fighter taking drugs before their match -- Perry's character looked into his son's eyes and said his final words, “You’re innocent.”

Although, the tears were flowing, "Riverdale" followers were warned by the show creator ahead of time about the touching moment.

"This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed. As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever," Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared.

He later promised Perry's character would get the proper send-off in the upcoming season because they didn't want to rush it.

Luke Perry passed away on March 4 after suffering a stroke. He was 52 years old.
