‘Riverdale’ Actor Ross Butler Joins Cast of Netflix’s ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ Sequel
Ross Butler is transferring high schools and joining Lana Condor and Noah Centineo in the sequel to Netflix’s hit teen romantic comedy “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.”
The “Riverdale” and “13 Reasons Why” actor announced in a deleted tweet that he’s joined the cast and posted a video on Twitter of “celebrating” with Centineo. He followed it up with a new tweet and confirmed what was said in the video.
“No April Fools jokes here, officially part of To All The Boys 2,” Butler wrote in the initial tweet. “Me and [Noah Centineo] celebrating. [Lana Candor] is blessed to witness.”

Butler will play Trevor Pike, the best friend to Centineo’s Peter Kavinsky.
Shooting on the sequel, which Netflix announced in December, is already underway.

News of the sequel was expected, thanks to the success of the first film and that there are three installments in Jenny Han’s book series on which “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” was based. That first book was followed by “P.S. I Still Love You,” and then “Always and Forever, Laura Jean.”
In “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before,” Condor stars as Lara Jean Covey, a high school junior whose sister sends out the deliberately never-to-be-sent letters to boys on whom she had a crush — sparking much drama as well as a budding romance with cool-kid crush Peter Kavinsky (Centineo).
The sequel is being produced by Matt Kaplan and Dougie Cash. Sofia Alvarez is writing the screenplay.

Butler will also appear in Warner Bros.’s new superhero flick “Shazam!,” starring Zachary Levi, Asher Angel and Jack Grazer. The film hits theaters April 5.
