Rita Ora Had a Relationship With a 26-Year-Old Man When She Was 14

Heavy history. A new excerpt from Rita Ora’s upcoming biography, Hot Right Now, reveals that the British pop singer had her first relationship with a 26-year-old man when she was only 14 years old, and she doesn’t necessarily see herself as a victim of abuse.

The relationship took place 10 years ago from when Ora, now 24, was a teenage student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.
“I was 14 when I had my first relationship with a guy,” the songstress wrote in her book, which was excerpted by The Sun this weekend. “I would say (he was) about 26, and you have to remember I hadn’t had a relationship before then at all. I was very new to the whole world of a man and a female.”

This isn’t the first time the “How We Do" singer, whose family escaped Kosovo before war ravaged the country in 1998, has mentioned her past relationship. In 2013, the singer spoke about the 12-year age difference in a Lifetime interview. “It’s child abuse really, isn’t it?” she asked at the time.
The Q&A which was also unearthed by The Sun, revealed Ora’s thoughts about the starting relationship, and whether she saw it as child abuse.
“I can’t begin to tell you how confident I felt when a man was interested in me,” she claimed at the time. “I felt like I was sexy, I felt like I had a form of respect, I felt like he listened to me. Now I know he listened to me because he obviously wanted to have sex with me. I felt good that men fancied me.”
In fact, Ora altered her physical appearances to gain more attention from men. “I’d wear low tops,” the singer shared. “I’d put red lipstick on, I’d make my hair blonder. My mum would just completely be like, ‘What are you doing?’ I think that’s what got me dressing crazy, why I love crazy clothes. Because my mum always let me freely express myself.”

Ora has previously dated Rob Kardashian, Calvin Harris, and Ricky Hilfiger. She was most recently linked to Travis Barker.
