Rita Moreno slams 'all of these bitches' who were mean to her in Hollywood

The 92-year-old revealed on "The View" that many women in show business were rude to her in her "little Puerto Rican past."

Rita Moreno just let loose at The View's Hot Topics table.

The 92-year-old Hollywood icon joined the talk show on Monday to promote her role in the new comedy filmThe Prank, in which she plays a mean-spirited professor falsely accused of murder, and revealed that she channeled the prickly dispositions of select peers to prepare for the role.

"I just thought, how am I going to play this terrible person? And I thought of all the women in my life — particularly in show business — who'd really been awful to me. All of these bitches," Moreno said after cohost Sunny Hostin asked the Oscar-winning West Side Story actress how she approached the part.

"I said to myself, I thought, I'm going to use all of the things that they did with me and my little Puerto Rican past, and that's what I do," Moreno continued. "Boy was that fun."

Moreno didn't name names, even though panelist Ana Navarro shoved a cue card toward her and asked her to write them down.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg — who, alongside Moreno, is also an EGOT-winning performer — echoed Moreno's sentiment about Hollywood, voicing agreement with the performer's assessment of star temperaments in industry circles.

The View was a fitting place for Moreno to make the claim, as the show has long hosted infamous squabbles among its cohosts — including an iconic 2007 clash between Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, which the show recently referenced during a mock Double Dare trivia game last week.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
