"All Rise," the courtroom drama starring Detroit's Simone Missick, is preparing to have its case dismissed for good.

The series ran on CBS for two seasons starting in 2019 and was picked up by OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network) for a third season that began in 2022.

OWN announced Tuesday that "All Rise" will end its series run with its third season. The first of its 10 remaining episodes will air at 9 p.m. Sept. 16.

The 10 episodes will pick up where the third season paused in August 2022 with a midseason finale involving a chaotic takeover of the Hall of Justice.

Missick anchors the series, which focuses on the personal and professional lives unfolding inside a busy Los Angeles courthouse. She plays Judge Lola Carmichael, a well-respected judicial force and former deputy district attorney who isn't afraid to be an activist on the bench.

Missick also is an executive producer of the show and received an NAACP Image Award nomination for her performance.

A 1999 graduate of Detroit's Renaissance High School and an alum of Howard University, Missick had her TV breakthrough role as police detective Misty Knight on the Netflix series "Luke Cage," which centered on the Marvel superhero of the title. She also appeared as Misty in "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders," two other shows in Netflix's Marvel-verse.

In 2020, "All Rise" earned attention for its virtual episode dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. It was the first prime-time scripted show that attempted to work within the social distancing boundaries of the COVID-19 crisis. Working from their homes, the actors used FaceTime, Zoom and other online options to portray their characters sheltering in place.

OWN president Tina Perry said in a statement Tuesday: "We are extremely proud of the positive impact 'All Rise' has made in showcasing strong, accomplished Black female characters. We are so grateful to all of our creative collaborators and wish to thank the talented cast and crew for their dedication and incredible work on the series.”
