Netflix has set an April 4 premiere date and unveiled the first trailer for psychological thriller series Ripley, starring Andrew Scott as Patricia Highsmith’s title character. The series adaptation, from The Night Of’s Steve Zaillian, was orginally set at Showtime but moved to the streamer ahead of Showtime’s integration into Paramount+.

Ripley, based on Highsmith’s bestselling novels, revolves around Scott’s Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, who is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.
