Ringo Starr falls on stage performing 'Give Peace a Chance': 'I fell over to tell you that'

Anyone listening for Ringo Starr's footsteps coming up the drive was in for a surprise when the former Beatles dummer fell on stage during the encore of a recent concert in New Mexico.
As captured in a video posted by TMZ, the 83-year-old musician took a tumble Wednesday while trotting back out to perform the iconic John Lennon song "Give Peace a Chance" with his trusty All-Starr Band.
Fortunately, Starr appeared to be okay and took the moment in stride, popping up quickly and heading to the microphone to sing the chorus. He followed up a round of "give peace a chance" by joking, "I fell over to tell you that."

Starr sang a little and then left the stage before the song ended. Prior to the encore, he and his band played for about two hours. The rest of the show reportedly went off without a hitch, as Starr performed his own music as well as a few songs from the Beatles, including "A Little Help From My Friends."
So far there have been no indications that Starr's spill will affect his current tour, which is slated to run through Oct. 13. Representatives for the musician didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment Friday.
Live shows aren't the only place fans can find Starr singing the classics this year: He recently reunited with Paul McCartney, and linked up with Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood, to sing "Let It Be" on Dolly Parton's new album.
