Earlier this year, Starr celebrated the 30th anniversary of his All Starr Band with a special show at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles where many former members of the group joined the stage for the encore of “With a Little Help From My Friends.” The band has seen many lineup changes since the first tour in 1989, but the criteria for joining has been the same from the very beginning. Each All Starr must have at least three hit songs of their own and be capable of backing Starr on his own catalog of Beatles and solo classics.

Last month, Starr released his new solo album What’s My Name. The title track was written by All Starr Colin Hay. It also includes a cover of John Lennon’s “Grow Old With Me,” the 1959 Motown classic “Money (That’s What I Want),” which the Beatles cut in 1963, and “Magic,” a new song that Starr wrote with Toto’s Steve Lukather.
