Ringgold Band schedules picnic and concert [Religion Digest]

Jul. 29----The annual Ringgold Band picnic and concert will be held next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at St. John-Hill United Church of Christ picnic grove, 620 Hill Church Road, Pike Township. Food is available from 3:30-8 p.m., sit-down service until 7, hamburgers, hotdogs, french fries, soup, ice cream, rain or shine. Music from 5-8 p.m., door prizes during the concert.

—Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will have coffee and conversation at 8:30 and 10 a.m. in the Welcome Center.

—The Walking Group from the United Church of Christ of Robesonia will meet next Saturday at 8 a.m. at Red Bridge Recreation Area, 2141 Tulpehocken Road, Spring Township. Penn Ave., Heidelberg Township, to finalize plans for the Car Show, which is scheduled for Aug. 12 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

—On Sunday morning from 9:05-9:45 a.m., Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will hold an adult forum in the first-floor parlor featuring Christine Folk, executive director of Mary's Shelter. Parking is available in the Abe Lincoln Hotel parking garage and the M&T Bank lot, both off of Washington Street. Handicap spaces are available beside the church on Court Street.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will have a free drive-through, take-out meal today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

—Rick Koenig will be the guest soloist at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday in the Memorial Hall at St. John's Gernant's Church (A Federated Congregation), 13 Gernant's Church Road, Ontelaunee Township. He will sing "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in This Place."

—The Southern and country gospel group Mended Heart will lead outdoor worship on Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at Salem-Berne United Methodist Church, 292 Salem Church Road, Tilden Township. A free will offering will be taken, and a time of fellowship will follow the service. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. The event is co-sponsored by Salem-Berne, Bethany and Salem Shoemakersville United Methodist Churches.
