In a profile of Keough that Vanity Fair published last August, Johnson recalled meeting her friend feeling "like finding a soulmate"

Riley Keough and Dakota Johnson go way back.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday, April 15, Keough said that she and Johnson, both 34, "met in the parking lot at In-N-Out" on Johnson's 16th birthday back in 2005.

"And then we became very good lifelong friends," the Sasquatch Sunset actress continued. "We formed a band together. ... It was called Folky Porn."

"We were both having a bit of a depressive trip in New York and we would do cover songs ... a lot of Bob Dylan," Keough continued. "And then we would video ourselves on Photo Booth."

"And then her brother would play guitar and then the videos went nowhere!" she added, laughing.

In a profile of Keough that Vanity Fair published last August, Johnson recalled meeting her friend feeling "like finding a soulmate."

"I felt this thing that is so impossible to articulate, growing up in a famous family,” said Johnson, who is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. Keough, meanwhile, is the granddaughter of the late Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, and the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley.

"There was this solidarity. Understanding," the Madame Web actress continued. "We would just smoke cigarettes with our moms. And they’d call each other and be like, ‘I guess she’s going to stay with you for the next four days. Call me if she needs a ride.’ "

"I’d go to Riley’s and then leave a week later. I don’t know if that’s normal, but, yeah, just running around L.A., sharing clothes, smelling like Nag Champa," Johnson added. "Most of it involved music festivals and dating musicians, of course.”

Back during an October 2021 Coldplay performance, Keough was touched after Johnson's now-fiancé Chris Martin dedicated his band's song "Yellow" to the Daisy Jones & The Six actress's brother Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27.

Sharing footage from the emotional tribute on Instagram, Keough acknowledged Johnson for likely orchestrating the tribute to her late brother.

"@coldplay dedicated Yellow to my brother tonight at @wecansurvivela ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭 I wasn't ready for it but it was such a beautiful surprise," wrote Keough.

She added, "And me love you @dakotajohnson and credit and thank you to whoever captured this video 🙏."
