As the world waits for Rihanna’s highly anticipated 9th studio album, her babies RZA, 23 months, and Riot Rose, 8 months, are being treated to a slew of new Rihanna covers — of the toddler variety. The “Diamonds” singer, who shares her sons with A$AP Rocky, revealed the adorable songs she sings to her boys in a new interview with Interview Magazine. Here’s hoping she comes out with a kids’ album one day!

In the interview published today, Rihanna revealed that she sings “Penguins Salute” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” “Oh my gosh. RZA gets really emotional about that [one],” she explained.

“And now he’s really into ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes,’” Rihanna went on. “’The Wheels on the Bus’ is a favorite from the beginning till now. That’s just a classic. It’s never going out of style.” It really doesn’t! She added, “And oh, the new ‘Incy Wincy Spider,’ because he gets like, ‘Ahh,’ like he thinks I’m going to tickle him when I sing that one. And he has a book about that, so he can put two and two together.”

The Incy Wincy Spider book is a twist on the classic “Itsy Bitsy Spider” nursery rhyme. It has fun sliders that make the spider appear on the page, and it has its own song to go along with it, which is part of the Sing Along With Me toddler book collection. Not to mention, now that we know Rihanna sings it to her kids, we want our kids to learn the song, too!

Unfortunately for parents (and maybe for non-parents, too), R9 — as her long-anticipated next album is nicknamed — will not be for kids. In a Feb. 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Lift Me Up” singer opened up about her upcoming album.

“Yes, you’re still going to get music from me,” she confirmed, adding that it won’t be an album of toddler songs. “My fans would kill me if they waited this long for a lullaby,” she added. But that doesn’t mean R10 couldn’t be for kids! Listening to RiRi sing these songs would be much more entertaining for us than, say, Cocomelon.

Another thing that makes Rihanna so relatable? She admitting to sticking to “comfortable” clothes when she is fully in mom duty. After Rihanna told Interview that her earrings were a gift from Rocky, she said, “Isn’t he the best? I be feeling bummy as shit next to this man.” She added, I’m getting on a plane. We should be in sweats. He wants to be in a full Bottega suit. I’m like, ‘Why you got to do that to me?’”

The reason she is dressed in sweats most of the time is because she’s such an active mother. “I spend my time getting the kids dressed to death, and then I’m like, ‘What’s the most comfortable outfit to wear around them?’” she continued. “’What’s not going to feel uncomfortable on their face or on their body or make me feel like I can’t hold them properly?’ Moms are lazy dressers in real life.”

Coming from someone who had the most amazing maternity outfits, that’s saying something! Moms need to be comfortable so we can hold our babies — and not worry that they will get spit up or snot on our couture (if we had couture).

The Fenty Beauty founder, who said she would be open to “as many [kids] as god wants me to have,” revealed that she “wouldn’t have had any idea” where her life would be now if you asked her 10 years ago. “The only thing that I knew I wanted, or that I could imagine, was motherhood,” she explained.

“I didn’t know how it would come, but it is the best part of my journey so far,” Rihanna added. “Everything else was a surprise.”
