Rihanna’s Mother’s Day Plans Looked Like a Magazine Editorial

Rihanna has very famously not been making music (sorry to remind the Navy) because she’s been busy making makeup and then making babies. The singer has two kids with A$AP Rocky, a pair of boys named RZA Athelston Mayers and Riot Rose Mayers, and in addition to that, she is Mother to the rest of us too. It appears A$AP and Rihanna are living as parents because they served DOWN for Rihanna’s Mother’s Day.
The couple was seen in a vintage 1970s-era New York City yellow taxi cab, with Rihanna clutching a couple of her vinyl records, Rated R and Anti. Rihanna used to reign over the Met Gala, and while we didn’t see her at the Met Gala, though she was heavily rumored to attend, we’re glad she is still one to pull out all the stops for the big events that matter to her. The couple went to the movies, and Rihanna took that look very seriously.

Rih wore a deconstructed and reconstructed red graphic T-shirt top with white letters, very similar to an archival piece from the Comme des Garçons’ fall 2003 runway show. She paired the top with a red organza high sleeve gloves and a red maxi skirt with a leg slit and, because of course, a black train. And let’s talk about the accessories. She styled the look with a 5-figure Jacob & Co. watch, a Gucci horsebit handbag, icy Chanel sunglasses, and strappy stiletto high heels. She wore her hair in a sleek, straight blond do and a classic Rih red lip.
With how much Rihanna is enjoying family life and motherhood and turning it out just to go to the movies with her boyfriend, let’s just assume Rih’s next album is nowhere near on the way. Sorry girls. With the way her career is played out, she has transcended the title of musician or performer or even celebrity. She’s a legend, and above all, she’s Mother.
