Rihanna found love with A$AP Rocky — and his style.

While chatting with Interview magazine for its spring 2024 issue, the “Umbrella” singer, 36, joked that sometimes her partner outshines her in the fashion department.

“I be feeling bummy as s--- next to this man. I feel like, goddamn, I look like his assistant,” she joked in the interview.

The reason she feels this way is because the rapper, 35, likes to turn mundane situations into a fashion show (which, if you know about his recent paparazzi-inspired Bottega Veneta campaign, makes total sense).

“I’m getting on a plane. We should be in sweats. He wants to be in a full Bottega suit. I’m like, 'Why you got to do that to me?' Rihanna said.

When asked if she feels any competition with Rocky, she replied, “No.”

“It’s more like I spend my time getting the kids dressed to death, and then I’m like, ‘What’s the most comfortable outfit to wear around them? What’s not going to feel uncomfortable on their face or on their body or make me feel like I can’t hold them properly?’ Moms are lazy dressers in real life.”

Rihanna may think that, but she really did change the game for maternity style when she was pregnant with her and Rocky’s sons, RZA, 23 months, and Riot, 8 months.

At last year’s Met Gala, she decked out her bump in an all-white Valentino look accessorized with a head covering turned shawl adorned with rosettes. Rocky stood beside her in a blazer and collared shirt (an ode to the night’s honoree, Karl Lagerfeld) and a red plaid high-low kilt over bedazzled wide-leg jeans.

PEOPLE confirmed the two’s relationship in November 2020. However, Rihanna and Rocky go way back. The two put on a steamy show at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. One year later, Rihanna starred in Rocky’s “Fashion Killa” music video. The couple most recently collaborated on Fenty Skin Lux Balm, which launched in January.

“We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot. And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other’s brands and products and creative all the time. I would wear his s---, he would show up to my launches,” Rihanna told Interview of their chemistry and shared interests.

“We’ve known each other for a long time. I’ve seen him in relationships. He’s seen me in relationships. We’ve seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives. We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution.”
