Ridgewood Performing Arts to participate in four shows this month

WEST LAFAYETTE − The choir and drama departments of Ridgewood Performing Arts will present several end of the year free musical events.

The Ridgewood choirs in grades seventh to 12th will combine for an annual pops concert at 6:30 p.m. May 7. The choirs will present a wide variety of popular music, ranging from John Denver to Neil Diamond and from Queen to Miley Cyrus. There are about 100 students involved in the concert.

The choirs will also perform at the Pomerene Arts Center’s Dogwood Festival at noon May 9 at the Coshocton artPARK.

A pop a cappella concert is at 6:30 p.m. May 15. The ensembles Syntax Error and Dynamic Chorale will perform along with the other school choirs. Ridgewood elementary and middle school students will be treated to the concert during the school day.

Drama students will present an evening of musical theater at 7 p.m. May 16. Songs will be from shows such as "Waitress," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Mamma Mia" and many more.

All shows, minus for the Dogwood Festival, will be held in the auditorium of Ridgewood High School, 602 Johnson St., West Lafayette. Doors open a half hour before performance time.
