Ricki Lake Continues Her #ThisIs55 Journey with Glam Getup in Little Black Dress

The former talk show host has lost over 30 lbs. after making a commitment to herself to become healthier in October 2023

Ricki Lake is showing just how glamorous 55 can be.

On instagram Tuesday night, the former talk show host shared a look at her sleek and sultry all black look for the 2024 Queerties Awards, which she attended to support her good friend Rosie O’Donell.

In the post, she shared a closeup photo of her look. She wore a little black v-neck dress that showed off her arms, and a slicked back hairstyle. The Hairspray alum accessorized the look with silver drop earrings, a silver bracelet and red nail polish, and did a smokey eye with nude lipstick for glam.

“Got dolled up for my dear friend @rosie and the #queerties awards,” she captioned the selfie, while also noting that she wore a vintage dress that she owned for the event.

O’Donnell also shared a side-profile photo of Lake at the event while sitting next to her husband Ross Burningham. In the snap, the actress smiled lightly as she appeared to look out onto the stage.

This is one of the first public events Lake has attended since revealing last month that she lost over 30 lbs. after making a commitment to herself to become healthier in October 2023. She shared that Burningham joined her on her health and fitness journey as well.

“Being 55 and in perimenopause, I was a bit worried that my body would not drop the lbs. like it had in the past,” Lake admitted in a post on Instagram. “I am so so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong. 💪.”

In the post, Lake shared pictures of her fitness journey, including a shot of herself and her husband on a hike, herself on a beach in November and a photo of herself standing on profile in a sports bra and leggings. She also showed a screenshot of her weight of 140 lbs. marked on a chart.

“I will go in depth in another post of what I did exactly, but suffice to say this is the healthiest way I’ve lost weight in all of my years. (I only started weighing myself on 11/15/23) guessing I was about 170 when I started. I’m 5’3”. #healthy #fitat55 #proud #thisis55 ❤️," she concluded the post.

Since the post, she has shared proud selfies of her body transformation, including a shot of her wearing a Norma Kamali one-piece swimsuit that she first wore in 2007 for a magazine cover shoot.

Lake captioned the before-and-after post, which also includes a picture of an Us Weekly magazine cover from 17 years ago: “I held on to this #NormaKamali one-piece for all these years wondering if I would ever be able to wear it again.”

She also shared a shot of herself wearing an all black ensemble that she previously wore after competing on Dancing with the Stars 13 years ago, writing, "#thisis55 #allnatural #healthy #happy #proud.”
