The 2024 and 2025 release years for the eighth season are because of the pattern followed by the previous six seasons and the upcoming seventh season, wherein there was a one-year or two-year time gap between the releases of the previous six seasons and the seventh season.

Season 8, like Season 7, will feature Eric Bauza and not Justin Roiland as the voice of Rick and Morty, given that Adult Swim has cut ties with Roiland after allegations of domestic violence were levied against him in January 2023. Fans can expect other voice actors in the show, such as Spencer Grammer, Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, Kari Wahlgren, Dan Harmon, Maurice LaMarche, and Tom Kenny, to reprise their roles.
