Richard Gere, 70, welcomes his third child

Richard Gere is a father again at age 70.

The Chicago actor’s 37-year-old wife, Alejandra Gere (née Silva), gave birth to their second child, a source confirms to Yahoo Entertainment. It’s a baby boy — the name has not been revealed publicly — and the family is home bonding at Gere’s estate in Pound Ridge, N.Y.

Hola! was the first to report the news.

This baby joins the couple’s son Alexander, who turned 2 in February. The Geres, who married in 2018, both have children from previous relationships as well: The Pretty Woman actor is a dad to Homer, 20, with second wife Carey Lowell, while the Spanish publicist has a 7-year-old son, Albert, with ex-husband Govind Friedland.

Yahoo confirmed in November that the couple was expecting their second child together.

The Geres, who share a passion for humanitarian work, began dating in 2014. They were married in a civil ceremony in early 2018 and had a larger reception for family and friends at the same Westchester County estate in May 2018.

The Golden Globe winner told The Times U.K. last year that when he met his future bride in Italy, the connection was “instant from my side. I instantly became happy just looking at her. It was one of those powerful things.” As for whether he’s a hands-on dad, he said, “Oh yes. I’m there.”

And in an interview with Radio Times last year, he spoke about Homer, who had been living with him during a gap year before starting college. “He’s everything better than me. I love him,” the proud dad gushed.
