'Family Feud' host Richard Dawson dies at age 79

Richard Dawson, the smooch-friendly host of Family Feud, died last night from complications related to esophageal cancer, according to ABC News. Dawson starred in Hogan’s Heroes and appeared on The New Dick Van Dyke Show and Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, but he’s best known for turning Feud into a cultural phenomenon after it debuted in 1976. “He was loved by millions of Americans as a television icon, but loved even more as a husband, a father, and grandfather by his family,” his son Gary wrote on Facebook.
