PRINCE GEORGE — You are invited to a free concert at Richard Bland College of William & Mary [RBC]. "Music in the Grove" will feature the legendary funk ensemble Plunky & Oneness on Saturday, April 20 from 4 - 7 p.m.

Band leader James "Plunky" Branch, an experienced performer, songwriter, music producer and film producer, has released 30 albums through his independent record label N.A.M.E. Brand Records, according to plunkyone.com. Plunky & Oneness have appeared in concert with some of the biggest names in Black music including Patti LaBelle, Ray Charles, Earth Wind & Fire, Yellow Jackets, Frankie Beverly & Maze, LL Cool J, Chuck Brown and more.

In the 1980s, Branch's song “Every Way But Loose" was a top-ten soul music chart hit in London. He and his band play rousing funk, jazz, African, rap and R&B. He will perform a few brand-new tunes from his recently released album "Love Is Everywhere" as well as old favorites.
