Rich Homie Quan is set to testify at Young Thug’s ongoing YSL RICO trial after the rapper was subpoenaed by prosecutors to take the stand as a witness.

On Wednesday (May 15), a social media account, ThuggerDaily, reported that Rich Homie Quan has been called as a witness, sharing photos of a subpeona issued to Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, that same day.

“Rich Homie Quan has officially been subpoenaed by the State in the Young Thug case,” the post, which included the subpeona signed by Fulton County Leiutenant Investigator Justin French, read.

“He is expected to take the stand in the upcoming few weeks. Just to be clear – this does NOT mean he cooperated or will cooperate.”

While ThuggerDaily went on to speculate that Quan would likely speak positively of his former collaborator, the account would later clarify that sentiment, alleging that Quan had previously given a statement regarding Young Thug or YSL to law enforcement in the past.

“Multiple good sources have confirmed to me Quan did give a police statement back in the day,” the account wrote in a subsequent post. “We’re gonna see it in court.” Rich Homie Quan is one of multiple entertainers who have been tied to the YSL Rico trial in some form.

The 700 witnesses originally named by the prosecution, which has since dwindled to around 200, once included rap stars Lil Wayne and Gunna, whom both have been ruled out of taking the stand during the trial.

Lil Wayne was previously involved in a rap rivalry with Thug, who is alleged to have played a role in having Weezy’s tour bus shot up following a live performance in Atlanta. Gunna, a former member of Young Thug’s YSL record label and crew, was released from prison in December 2022 after entering a guilty plea with the state.

Despite receiving backlash for seemingly cooperating against Young Thug, Gunna insisted otherwise, as he said his plea agreement doesn’t stipulate that he testify against Thugger, which he claims isn’t his intention.

Hip-hop artist Young Thug arrives at a release party for his new album “PUNK” at Delilah on October 12, 2021 in West Hollywood, California.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said in a statement following his release from jail.

Cash Money Records CEO Birdman and incarcerated rap star YFN Lucci remain on the prosecution’s witness list and could potentially take the stand if called upon by the state.
