‘RHOSLC’ Star Monica Garcia Reveals ‘Shock’ Pregnancy

Monica Garcia had some major news to share during a recent appearance on Nick Viall’s The Viall Files podcast.
In an episode that was released on Thurs., April 11, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum discussed criticisms of her role during Season 4 of the hit Bravo show before she dropped her bombshell revelation.
“I am pregnant,” she told the former Bachelor star. “I literally just found out.”
The reality TV star explained that she had recently visited urgent care “for something totally unrelated” when the medical professionals there informed her that she was expecting.
“Literally I was on the urgent care floor bawling my eyes out,” Garcia told Viall. “Because I’m like, I’m 39, like there’s no way, I’m on birth control. By all means, I should not be pregnant.”
Garcia, who is already a mother to four children with her ex-husband, Mike Fowler, went on to say she felt “so scared” by the idea of having another child in her late 30s. “I think being so much older and having a baby is really freaking me out,” she said. “Also, my youngest is 6. I thought I was done. It’s so much.”
Near the end of the episode, Viall told listeners that Garcia’s interview had been recorded about a month ago, when she was about seven weeks along. Shortly before the episode’s release, he checked in with Garcia over Zoom to learn how she was feeling after having a bit more time to process her unexpected pregnancy.
In that follow-up interview, Garcia told Viall that the news had been “so fresh” and “so new” when she’d first discussed it. She also identified her partner of one year, with whom she is expecting the child, as 29-year-old Braxton. The Daily Mail further identified the father-to-be as Braxton Knight, who works as a general manager at Wasatch Excursions in Utah.
Garcia began dating Knight shortly after they met while she was filming a snowmobiling scene with fellow RHOSLC star Heather Gay. Though the pregnancy was “a complete shock” to them both, Garcia said Knight has been “so supportive” along the way and even started doing research on his own to learn more about the process.
