Topgun505: Take a look at the annual deficit (how much we add to the overall debt in a given year) … starting from Reagan up until now. Now look at who was president each year. You will find that overall, most years that racked up huge deficits and blew up the national debt were GOP presidents. The one notable exception, of course, was Obama during his first term ... but that was because he was using federal spending to stabilize the economy and prevent a full blown depression (which is not an unreasonable tactic during times of emergency like that). In the end you can reach only one conclusion, whether you like the GOP or not … they cannot in any way shape or form call themselves 'fiscally conservative or fiscally responsible" They ACT like it when there is a Dem president in the white house and will block any spending they can on social programs/safety nets, but when a GOP is president ...it is endless spend-spend-spend and Tax-cut tax-cut tax-cut (to the rich, mind you, the middle class and poor generally get a few crumbs, if that). This current president is no exception.
