“Real Housewives of New York” star Tinsley Mortimer is giving fans a glimpse at the moment her man Scott Kluth popped the big question.
Earlier this week, the news broke that Mortimer was officially off the market after her on-again-off-again boyfriend had proposed to her in Chicago.
Mortimer posted a photo of her looking shocked as Kluth is holding the massive ring while on one knee. She wrote, “I always knew it was you!!! ❤️”
“RHOC” star Tamra Judge commented “Congratulations I’m so happy for you guys 👰🏼 🤵” and Vicki Gunvalson said, “Congratulations! Wishing you both a lifetime if happiness.”
Her former “RHONY” costar Bethenny Frankel said her words in only emojis, “😘💋❌⭕️.”
According to Page Six, the “RHONY” star’s man popped the question as Christmas carolers “sang by the steps of the Chicago Water Tower.”
The source told Page Six, “Scott’s apartment is close to where the carollers were. They were walking to dinner to and they saw these carollers, and they broke into Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years,’ which is their song. It took Tinsley a few seconds to figure out what was going on, but then Scott got down on one knee. He’d organized the whole thing with the carollers in advance.”
“She was totally surprised. Her friends sort of knew something was coming, but it really did take her by surprise” added the source.
Scott even asked Tinsley’s mother, Dale Mercer, for permission before popping the question. He was planning out the moment after reportedly buying the ring on November 1. Mortimer’s storyline on “RHONY” focused on her trying to get engaged and find a husband, specifically trying to get Kluth to lock her down.
Mortimer has been having a whirlwind couple weeks. Earlier this month, she sparked rumors she quit “RHONY” after she skipped out on filming.

She was scheduled to film with her costars at a fancy hotel in New York. However, she didn’t show up to the scheduled shoot and left them all hanging. She was accused of skipping work to fly to Chicago to hang with Kluth.
At the time, Mortimer posted a photo from Chicago writing, “Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true” ☺️🌈 #chicago 📸by Scott.”
Fans were convinced Mortimer was done with the reality show once and for all. That was until she showed up at BravoCon with her costars acting like nothing happened.
Mortimer has starred on “Real Housewives of New York” since Season 9. She will be returning his season with Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley. The new addition this season is a woman named Leah McSweeney.
The one “RHONY” who did actually leave the show was Bethenny Frankel. She announced she would not be returning for Season 12. In a statement, “I have decided to leave the ‘Housewives’ franchise to explore my next chapter. It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women. With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have.”
Frankel was on “RHONY” from season 1 until season 3. She left and returned for season 7 until season 11.
