RHONY Shuts Down Production for a Second Time After Cast Member Tests Positive for COVID: Source

A Real Housewives of New York City cast member has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, a source tells PEOPLE.

After one of the apple-holding Housewives got a positive diagnosis for COVID-19, the source says that production on RHONY has been temporarily shut down. A previously scheduled cast trip has also been canceled as part of Bravo's strict safety protocols.

Bravo did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment.

Page Six was first to report the news.

In October, filming on the New York City franchise was partially suspended after a crew member tested positive. Despite a report claiming at the time that production on season 13 was shut down after a member of the cast tested positive, a source close to production said that "a Housewife never tested positive for coronavirus."

The new season will feature returning Housewives Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Leah McSweeney and Sonja Morgan, along with newcomer Eboni K. Williams. Williams' casting news was announced in October, making her the show's first Black Housewife.

"This is not the first time I've been the first Black woman in a space. I was the first Black woman at my law firm coming out of law school," Williams told PEOPLE. "When you are privileged to be the first, you represent your entire culture. I'm not just on this show as Eboni K. Williams, in many ways, I'm on this show representing Black womanhood. I take that responsibility very seriously. I don't have the option to be a shrinking violet."

A premiere date for RHONY's return has not yet been announced.

Along with RHONY, the Real Housewives of Atlanta and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have also halted production due to coronavirus concerns.
