"Real Housewives of Orange County" alum Meghan King Edmonds shared her daily routine to improve the health of her 1-year-old special needs son, Hart.
"Everyday we go into this chamber for 45 minutes. It’s pure compressed oxygen," the mother shared with her followers. "The goal is for the oxygen to reawaken Hart’s damaged brain cells from his PVL."
The star went on to detail what each session in the chamber is like for mother and son.
"We cannot bring anything into the chamber with us (I wanted to bring books and water) except Hart’s lovey," she explained. "I watch HGTV via sound pumped into the chamber - the screen is warped bc I view it through the glass HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen) chamber."
Edmonds continued, "Hart climbs all over me the entire time and we play a lot of paddy cake as he sucker punches me in the gut and pinches me everywhere as he climbs which makes it extremely difficult for me to hold up his oxygen mask to his face!"
She ended her message by saying that Hart actually seems to enjoy the time in the chamber.
"He loves the chamber especially when people are walking around by us," Meghan said, "and he hasn’t slept once!"
Edmonds announced that Hart has "irreversible brain damage" in a past blog post.
"Hart has minor Periventricular Leukomalacia on both sides of his brain," Meghan wrote in her blog and explained that the disease carries a risk of being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
Hart's Huge Milestone
Back in August, Meghan shared a huge milestone when Hart stood for the first time.
"Hart stood for the first time!" Edmonds exclaimed, "And I’m not talking for a half second, he stood for almost a whole minute!"
The star is sharing Hart's story on her blog and with the #gohartgo.
