Rex Orange County has announced his new album, Pony. The follow-up to 2017’s Apricot Princess is due out October 25th via Sony Music.
Rex, a.k.a. Alexander O’Connor, wrote, recorded, and performed Pony almost entirely by himself. Sessions took place at East London’s Strongroom Studios alongside co-producer, engineer, and mixer Ben Baptie. The effort’s lead single, “10/10”, dropped last week. Other song titles include “Pluto Projector”, “Face to Face”, and “Never Had the Balls”. Pre-orders for the 10-track Pony are going on now.
In support of the release, Rex Orange County will head out on a North American headlining tour next year. Following a run of UK dates in November, he’ll kick off the stateside leg January 9th in Phoenix, Arizona. Las Vegas, Oakland, Vancouver, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Boston, Orlando, and Houston are all on the docket. Other highlights include a two-night stint at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall and a set at New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall.
Tickets go on sale on September 27th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. You can also check for tickets here. Find the full schedule under the Pony artwork and tracklist below.
