Colleen shot to fame playing the character Miranda Sings in 2009, and has built a huge fanbase that largely consists of children and teenagers.

And her staggering online success led to her going on several live tours over the years, and even landed her a Netflix series in 2016 called Haters Back Off!.

But in 2020, the tide started to turn. Former fans accused Colleen of engaging in inappropriate behavior with them as minors, with Adam McIntyre stating that the star had sent him underwear when he was just 13 years old.

At the time, Colleen admitted that this was true, but said that while it was “completely stupid” it was only a “joke.”

The scandal quietly disappeared until this year, when others came forward to share their troubling past experiences with Colleen. Adam spoke to Huffington Post and said that when the YouTuber was in her late 20s, she created a group chat called “Colleeny’s Weenies” that consisted of him and other teenage fans.

She would apparently repeatedly talk about sex in the chat, and even asked Adam if he was a virgin and what his “favorite position” was.

Colleen has also been accused of trauma dumping on her young fans, specifically about her divorce from fellow YouTuber Joshua Evans. She would reportedly tell the youngsters that Joshua was abusive towards her, which he has since denied.

In addition, Colleen allegedly shared pornographic videos and photos of influencer Trisha Paytas with her underage fans. In texts that have been shared to Twitter, Colleen can seemingly be seen ridiculing and body shaming Trisha, who she launched a podcast with earlier this year.

Colleen’s alter ego Miranda Sings has also come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with many being left horrified by the inappropriate nature of the character in resurfaced clips from Colleen’s live shows and YouTube videos.

These include footage of Colleen inviting a young girl wearing a short romper and no pants onto the stage and spreading her legs as part of a yoga skit.

Unsettling videos of her with JoJo Siwa have also been unearthed, with then-29-year-old Colleen engaging in inappropriate conversations with the former child star, who was 13 years old at the time.

At the weekend, a former employee for Colleen’s Netflix series came forward with more allegations against the star — including racism and disturbing content that Colleen apparently wanted to work into the script.

Colleen apparently wanted to make Miranda’s uncle Jim “even more ‘r***y’” in the show amid an ongoing storyline where the two would "be caught in compromising positions or stomach-churning moments of intimacy that could always be easily explained away by a clueless Miranda."

April Korto Quioh — who is Black — worked as a writers’ assistant, a show runner’s assistant, and a writers’ PA on the show and made the allegations in a newsletter post. She said that Colleen “saw no issue with commenting on my hair, or my clothes, or asking about my personal life.”

She added that the star "had a knack for making ‘funny,’ biting comments about the people around her, and since we all had her to thank for our jobs, we were forced to just go with it.”

Elsewhere in the newsletter, April claims that Colleen used the N-word while on set. She wrote: “I recall overhearing her once brag that a creator was being ‘canceled’ for saying the n-word (and if you think she went with ‘N-word’ instead of hitting that hard ‘r,’ then you haven’t been paying attention) and that she would never be stupid enough to get caught doing something like that.”

According to April, Colleen also thought that it was “distracting” to include "POC background actors" in her show.

And on Tuesday, content creator Paigey Christie shared a video of Colleen performing Beyoncé’s hit song “Single Ladies” in blackface.

In the video, which was uploaded in 2018 but Paigey believes was filmed in 2010, Colleen is on stage as Miranda Sings with two backing dancers.

As the crowd cheers and laughs, she awkwardly dances while singing the track. She is barefoot and wearing a black leotard, with distinctive black makeup covering her face.

While the three minute 51 second video is an unlisted upload to Miranda’s YouTube channel, Colleen shared a QR code that links to it in her 2018 book, My Diarrhe.

Needless to say, viewers were horrified by the content and many were especially surprised to learn that Colleen had uploaded and shared the video herself.

One person wrote on a Reddit forum: “God it wasn’t even that hidden, she published that like it was something to be proud of.”

Another added: “she literally linked this via QR code in her BOOK and saw nothing wrong with it.” Someone else wrote: “When I saw that she uploaded this video herself I fully expected it to be back in like 2007 not in fucking 2018….!!?!?”

She has 10 other scheduled shows across July, August, and September. Currently, all but one appear to be going ahead despite the mounting allegations against her.

On Wednesday, it was noted that the venue for Colleen’s Aug. 10 show in Missouri had canceled her performance “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

While Colleen has not yet addressed the accusations of blackface and racism, she did release a video last week where she explicitly denied “grooming” her underage fans.

The online star was widely criticized for seemingly making light of an incredibly serious situation by performing a song on her ukulele that included the lyrics: “The only thing I’ve ever groomed is my two Persian cats. I’m not a groomer, I’m just a loser who didn’t understand I shouldn’t respond to fans.”

She also branded the claims against her “hateful accusations” and “misinformation.”
